"The greatest sources for creative inspiration are nature, history, and anthropology."
My background is Art and Architecture. Expertise in both of these fields helps me communicate visual concepts and helps to make a Directors vision a reality.
In the study and practice of Architecture, one of the greatest things I learned was the art of conceptual designing. By understanding what is the underlying focus of what you are trying to create it is easy to design and create visual elements for a particular focus. A strong concept can be likened to a well watered seed that becomes well rooted and grows into an unshakable tree.
In Fine Art, I have studied technique and process for decades. Studying with renowned artist such as Nelson Shanks, Dan Green, and touring the art museums of Europe and the Americas has helped me to develop an understanding of what it takes to visualize and execute new styles or create original work in the styles of other artists.
I also possess a considerable knowledge of fashion and wardrobe design. Through study and practice I understand the link that wardrobe has with character. For the character to be believable he/she must be married to their costume. The costume itself tells a story about the character.
I am also a lover of History and Anthropology. I believe that history is a palette that can be used to create what is new. I have traveled to six continents and studied culture and people. The richness in the variety of the world around us I use as a reservoir for inspiration.
In all, I believe these abilities create in me a creative vision that is broad, versatile, and is an asset to any project .
